"Do It Yourself" maintenance check list
If you're the type of owner who enjoys DIY here are a few things you should check for when you come into your home.

Maintenance Prevention Checks
Change all your light bulbs in lamps and outdoor overhead lights
Check your pool door alarms
Check to see if you’re A./C filter is clean and fits snug
Apply WD40 to all your locks
Check your windows are they’re any cracks, do they open, close and lock properly
Does your front door seal properly
Stand back and look at the roof are there any missing shingles
Is if a struggle to open or close the garage door
Does your sliding door shut and lock easily
Are there any missing or chipped tiles on your pool
Does your pool deck have any cracks
Does your pool look in good shape
Is your pool rules signs okay
Do you have depth marker at the deep and shallow ends
Do you have a "no trespassing sign"
Walk around the outside of your home checking for cracks
If the cracks are wider than ½ inch call a professional
Repairs small cracks in walls with caulk then paint
Check your screen door locks
Check your screen for holes
Check your porches and eaves for wasp or mud dobbers nests
Check to ensure the compressor and pool equipment are free from grass and foliage
Check your mail box if you have one
Check your door number
Write your name and or address on the bottom of outdoor furnishings
Write your address on your pool pole brush and net
Write your address on your pool filter and heater
Leave a large supply of trash bags under the kitchen sink
Leave a supply of new light bulbs in pantry
Leave a supply of vacuum cleaner bags
Check your first aid kit
Touch up all your interior paint
Check to ensure your Front mat is in good shape
Change all your batteries in your smoke detectors
Check your pool door alarms
Check to see if you’re A./C filter is clean and fits snug
Restock up on spare A/C filters and date them
Check your pool door alarms
Do all your cupboard draws and doors open and close properly
Check caulk around toilets, tubs or showers re-caulk where needed
Check all vinyl flooring for stains and nicks
Check all indoor tiles for cracks
Check carpets for cleaning and fitting
Change batteries in all remote controls
Check all ceilings for stains ( this indicates a roof leak)
Check the condition of all furniture for wear and tear, and repair/replace what's needed.
